Togetherness from Jahbradez

‘Together’ is the new song from singer Jahbradez. A call for global unity, he co-produced it with Sheldon “Clatta Bumboo” Townsend. It is scheduled for release on March 27.

The South Florida-based artist refers to periods of turmoil, including the 1970s in his native Jamaica to illustrate the need for ‘oneness’.

“‘Together’ was inspired by a mix of experiences I have read about in the past and what I’ve been observing in the world around me. There’s been so much division, socially, politically, even within communities, and I felt a strong need to create something that encourages unity and empathy,” said Jahbradez. “It’s really a reflection of my belief that we’re stronger when we support each other.”

From the market town of Falmouth in Trelawny parish, western Jamaica, Jahbradez is a graduate of the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in Kingston. It was there that he met colleagues who would form the band Pentateuch, for which he was drummer and vocalist.

For the past seven years, Jahbradez has focused on his career as a singer. ‘We Are Black’ and ‘Like We nuh Seet’ are two of his previous songs.

On ‘Together, he salutes the work of his musical heroes.

“My biggest influences come from roots-reggae and conscious music. Artists like Burning Spear, Black Uhuru, Peter Tosh, and Bob Marley and The Wailers have had a major impact on me,” he said. “I’m inspired by their message, their authenticity, and how they use music to speak truth and uplift people. I also draw from blues and pop influences to shape my own unique sound.”
