Richie Innocent Attends the Passover

The old adage, ‘beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing’, is recalled in ‘The Passover’, poet Richie Innocent’s latest song which was released on August 17. It is a joint production between the artist’s Richie Innocent Music and Cyberleaf Entertainment, owned by Marlon Wright.

‘The Passover’ was released on August 17, the birthdate of Pan African founder Marcus Garvey.

According to Richie Innocent, “The Passover puts the action of those who pretend to be helpful or might have meant well but find themselves sabotaging those they initially attempted or claimed to be encouraging or giving assistance.”

‘The Passover’ is the follow-up to ‘Body Camera’, the New York-based artist’s song that was released early this year. ‘Body Camera’ is a poem from ‘Perseverance’, Richie Innocent’s first book, which came out in 2024.

Richie Innocent is also preparing to stage the second ‘Poetry: Echoes of Expression’ show on September 27 at VP Records headquarters in Queens, New York. Like last year’s inaugural event, it will feature poets, mainly from Jamaica.

“Poetry: Echoes of Expression will deliver a whole different experience to the New York space and to the North American community, with poets presenting creativity at its best. There will be a marriage of books and poetry and those in attendance will get the opportunity to listen, learn and get copies purchased and signed,” he disclosed.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica’s capital, Richie Innocent was raised in St. Elizabeth, a rural parish in southern Jamaica. His hard-hitting songs include ‘Careless Shotta’ and ‘Drugs fi Guns’.
