Ms. Fluffy says ‘Leave Me Alone’

Grenadian soca singer Ms. Fluffy teams with Jamaican dancehall veteran Macka Diamond on ‘Leave Me Alone’, a song saluting the saucy Caribbean woman during the annual Carnival season. Released in June, ‘Leave Me Alone’ is produced by Propa Way Production out of Grenada.

According to Ms. Fluffy, she wanted to capture the mood of many Caribbean ladies in the Caribbean’s most festive period which usually runs from January to August. And who better to share the mic with than Macka Diamond.

“‘Leave Me Alone’ is a playful yet bold anthem for the Caribbean woman especially around Carnival time. It’s about a woman who isn’t stressed about what her man is doing in the streets, as long as he’s taking care of her financially and keeping her well,” she said. “The song celebrates that mindset where her only focus is enjoying herself and having her Carnival spirit up. No stress, no worries, just vibes, freedom, and good times.”

Since making her recording debut in 2011, Ms. Fluffy has released a number of songs including ‘Jus me Friend’, ‘My Hood’ and ‘The Cocoa’. She has also performed in her homeland, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and the United States.

With ‘Leave Me Alone’, Ms Fluffy would not mind getting a break in Jamaica, where she lived for two years.

“I have deep connections there, musically and personally. Jamaica is a hub for dancehall and reggae, and I’ve always felt welcome in that space,” she said.
