Reggae artiste Fhiyahshua believes in the power of positive music. “As a rastaman, I live by the principles and tenets of Rastafari. I live a life of consciousness and righteousness. This is reflected in my music; all my songs carry positive and uplifting messages. I don’t believe in making music that promotes negativity,” said Fhiyahshua.
The Rastafarian singer who lists Bob Marley and the Wailers, Brigadier Jerry, Sister Nancy, Sizzla, and Buju Banton among his musical influences is currently promoting his 11th studio album titled Soo Different.
The 12-track project which was coproduced by him, and his wife Claudette Jackson was released by J.M.P. Records / Fhiyahshua Records in January. Some of the tracks on the album are ‘Champion’ featuring Jahnell Eccles, ‘Arrogant,’ ‘Soo Different,’ ‘Income’ and ‘Envy’. “We’ve put a lot of time and resources into producing this album. It’s an authentic reggae project. All the songs on this album carry strong messages that will resonate with music lovers worldwide,” he said.
Fhiyahshua is currently working on the follow-up album to ‘Soo Different.’ “I’m currently recording tracks for my next album which is slated to be released next year. I am also working on an EP; I might release that project later this year.”
Fhiyahshua given name Andy Anthony Jackson hails from the Bedward Garden, in August Town, Kingston. He launched his recording career in 2012 with a single titled ‘Herbs Calogne’ which was produced by FFA Music Publishing/Caribbean Palm Records.
