Singer Teflon Young King hits the stage at Cali Vibes Fest on February 16 in Long Beach, California as anticipation builds for his mixtape, scheduled for release one day earlier.
February 15 is also the Jamaican roots artist’s birthday. He has two shows in ‘Cali’ before his appearance at Cali Vibes Fest — in Santa Cruz on February 3 and Santa Barbara seven days later.
He says Cali Vibes Fest, which features a number of big names, is the perfect launching pad for ‘Light Through the Darkness’, his EP which has 10 songs.
“A festival with this magnitude will definitely pull more people to my music and help support my platforms. It is important to also be on major festivals like Cali Vibes Fest which is a tremendous event to expose talent and to showcase your new work in front of a wider audience,” he said.
Cali Vibes Fest takes place February 16-18. Its high-profile cast includes Stephen and Damian “Junior Gong” Marley, Shaggy, Sean Paul, Inner Circle, Gwen Stefani, Ice Cube and The Pharcyde.
Last year, Teflon Young King performed in major markets such as Toronto, Sacramento, Oregon, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Jamaica. He used those shows to promote his album, ‘Underrated’.
Currently, he is promoting several songs, namely ‘Kungo’, ‘Solid to The Bone’ and ‘Brimstone’.
After Cali Vibes Fest, Teflon Young King is slated to complete his California jaunt with gigs in Bolinas, Santa Cruz and Los Angeles. They will be followed by dates in Lake Wales, Florida and Guyana in March.
