Singer Hopeton Lindo, who had a banner 2023, launched his 2024 campaign with two songs on the Favorite ‘riddim’, produced by his Irie Pen Records.
Lindo’s ‘Favorite Girl’ and ‘The Best in Me’ by Sanchez (both written by Lindo) kicked off the six-song project on February 8. It also has songs by Peter G, Novel-T, Anthony Malvo and INique.
The Irie Pen Records principal said with Valentine’s Day coming up on February 14, his objective was to produce a riddim that oozes love. With the help of the Heavybeat Crew, who created the beat, he believes that was achieved.
“The feel in mind is to produce a lovers rock juggling to stand the test of time and release them during Valentine’s. We have six songs on the riddim and will be dropping some singles and an EP soon,” Lindo disclosed.
Peter G contributes ‘Not Taking No’, Novel –T’s song is ‘I Love the Way’, Anthony Malvo does ‘I Can’t’ while INique’s track is Happy. All the artists on the Favorite are vocalists which is a deliberate strategy.
“It’s very important to keep the singer in focus as I believe the work that you put in will determine the outcome, so we work as a team that embraces the challenge of being the best of ourselves,” said Lindo.
Irie Pen Records had an outstanding 2023 with Lindo releasing ‘Purpose’, which was the number two album for the year on the Foundation Radio Network Charts.
He was also named its number one Male Artist of The Year. Novel-T was selected number one Female Artist of The Year by that organization.
