Several Jamaicans to be Honoured at the Third Atlanta Caribbean Community Awards

Several Jamaicans and other Caribbean nationals are slated to receive awards in recognition of their work and achievements in various fields including entertainment, sports, education, and humanitarian at the third annual staging of the Atlanta Caribbean Community Awards.

The Atlanta Caribbean Community Awards is organized by veteran media practitioner Robert Shaw who is originally from Portland and his partner Wesley Graham, who was born in England but lived in Westmoreland for several years before migrating to the US.

“This event was created to give recognition to Caribbean nationals here in Atlanta, and throughout the diaspora; as well as persons living in the Caribbean who are making a tremendous impact in various fields including entertainment, humanitarian, education, and sports. The first staging took place in 2022 and since then the event has been growing in popularity among the Caribbean community in Atlanta.”

He continued, “Both Wesley and I are pleased with the support that the event has received since its first staging because as the event continues to grow we can do more to honour our Caribbean people here in Atlanta and those who live in the Caribbean and the diaspora for the extraordinary work they’re doing in various fields,” said Shaw.

This year’s recipients include publicist and music producer Ralston Barrett, Lenworth ‘Lenny’ Hyde, Everton Tomlinson, Appolone Reid, Christine Marzouca, Maxine Foster, Garfield McCook, and Tania Hernandez.

The third annual Atlanta Caribbean Community Awards is scheduled to take place at 8020 Rockbridge RD, S.W. Lithonia, Georgia on Saturday.

Entertainment will be provided by Andrew Bell and Tania Hernandez.  Marla W Mignott will be the guest speaker at the function, while Anthony Duare and Donna McLeod will handle MC duties.
