Richie Flo, Major Steppa Aim to Uplift with Pilot

Toronto-based singer Richie Flo has teamed with Ghanaian singjay Major Steppa for ‘Pilot’, a song released in January. It is produced by Fresh Flamez Entertainment.

Major Steppa, who is based in Accra, Ghana’s capital, has worked with several Jamaican artists. He was introduced to Richie Flo by Carl “One Blood Carl” Thomas, a mutual friend and Jamaican music industry veteran.

While they never met physically, Major Steppa said the artists had an instant connection, and ‘Pilot’ was recorded shortly after their introduction.

“I sent Richie Flo the instrumental with the intention of collaborating and getting to know his music. We had several conversations to brainstorm the song’s direction,” Major Steppa disclosed.  He added that he hopes the spiritual message of the song and its video will hit home.

“Pilot aims to inspire listeners worldwide with its uplifting message of hope and motivation, resonating with a diverse audience,” he said.

Born and raised in Accra, Major Steppa was raised on his country’s indigenous sounds, as well as Jamaican reggae and dancehall. He is a rising star among the West African country’s growing reggae community, which has produced acts such as Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and Rocky Dawuni.

Richie Flo is from St. Thomas parish in eastern Jamaica. A resident of Canada for the past 13 years, he is part of Toronto’s vibrant reggae scene, and has, to date, released three EPs and one album.
