Producer Alton Smith calls up some heavy hitters for the ‘Prosperity Riddim’ compilation album which was released on October 18 by his Syn Citi Entertainment label.
Rytikal, one of the hottest acts in Jamaican dancehall, roots stalwarts Norris Man and Turbulence, and dancehall veteran I-Octane, have songs on the eight-song set which is the Florida-based company’s second project for 2023.
“I selected the artists based on the feedback I got from the riddim and vibes as well,” said Smith, who noted that he has “definitely grown as a producer” since debuting with the Syn Citi compilation album two years ago.
Rytikal’s song on the Prosperity is ‘Mother Earth’. Norris Man sings ‘Good Old Days’ while Turbulence’s song is ‘Against the Ropes’. I-Octane and Kashu Man team-up for ‘Don’t Blame Me’.
Upcoming deejays, Vycedon and Bibidon, who did songs on earlier Syn Citi Entertainment albums, are also on the Prosperity. Their songs are ‘Affliction’ and ‘Greatness’, while Nation Boss does ‘Humble’.
The Posterity follows Syn Citi Entertainment’s four-song ‘Friends and Foes’ EP which came out in the summer. That featured songs by Bibidon, Vycedon and Chogo Don. In addition to their self-titled introductory beat, the label released the ‘Furnace and Nation’ compilation albums in 2022.
