‘Survivor’, the second album by singer Novel-T, was released on August 17. It contains 11 songs and is produced by P And N Publishing, a company operated by her husband, Howard Perry Ricketts.
Novel-T believes she has grown considerably since the 2016 release of ‘Born to Love You’, her first album. “The fans will hear it, I worked with some great people, like-minded people, who wanted to get everything right,” she said.
The Jamaican artist has been one of the dominant forces in South Florida reggae. That can be heard on ‘Survivor’ which has six songs that went number one on the South Florida Reggae Chart. Those chart-toppers are ‘Keep it Moving’, ‘I Love The Way’, ‘Love Won’t Let Us Wait’ (with Peter G), ‘Tough Like A Diamond’, ‘Two Makes One’ and a cover of The Emotions’ ‘So I Can Love You’.
‘Crazy Love’ is one of the new songs on ‘Survivor’ It is written and produced by Hopeton Lindo, who has worked on several of Novel-T’s hit singles in the past five years.
Ricketts produced most of the album’s songs and also played trumpet on the set. Other musicians on ‘Survivor’ include Sly and Robbie, saxophonist Dean Fraser, bassists Michael “Mikie Bassie” Henry and Derrick Barnett, keyboardists Franklyn “Bubbler” Waul and Sydney Thorpe, guitarist Billy Johnson, multi-instrumentalist Paul Gauntlett and The Heavybeat Crew.
