MitchDiSinga has recorded a smashing reggae version of the R&B song titled ‘You Just Can’t Smile It Away’ which was originally recorded by American R&B legend Bill Withers.
The song which was written by Withers was featured on his eighth and final studio album titled ‘Watching You’, Watching Me which was released by Columbia Records in 1985.
‘You Just Can’t Smile It Away’ is one of my favorite Bill Withers songs. Although it’s not as popular as some of his other songs such as ‘Lean on Me’, ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’, and ‘Just the Two of Us’, it is a great song. I believe if it was released as a single it would have been a massive hit. It’s an honor for me to record a reggae version of this song because it was written and originally recorded by a truly iconic artiste,” said MitchDiSinga.
He added, “I believe my version of ‘You Just Can’t Smile It Away’ will be well-received by music fans all over the world. My team and I believe in this song and we’re going to put a lot of promotion behind it.”
The musical accompaniment for the reggae version of ‘You Just Can’t Smile It Away’, was provided by a group of top-flight musicians including Dean Fraser (saxophone), Kirk “Kirkledove” Bennett (drums), Glen Browne (bass) and Mitchum Chin (guitar).
The song which was produced by the US based Raw Vue Music and mixed by award-winning studio engineer Delroy “Phatta” Pottinger is scheduled to be released on all digital and streaming platforms on February 24.
MitchDiSinga is gearing up to release his fourth studio album which is slated to be released later this year by Buju Banton’s Gargamel Music imprint. He’s also working on several new singles that he plans to release throughout the year.
