Juno Award-winning reggae artist Kirk Diamond and producer Finn have released their second single, ‘Bring It Good’, off their upcoming album “Dread.” The single features Tiffanie Malvo, and with its early 90s Dancehall sound, it is already projected to be a hit. The album’s first single, ‘Reggae Party’, is already Juno accredited.
Diamond and Finn were intentional in creating the specific sound for ‘Bring It Good’. They wanted to pay homage to the golden era of Dancehall while also making it sexy and hardcore but not vulgar. The collaboration with Tiffanie Malvo was a long time coming, and her authentic rude gyal feel brings back the sound of the golden era of dancehall on this well-crafted track.
Diamond’s music is known for its messages of unity, inclusion, and love. He is a social activist who uses his music to deliver these important messages. With five Juno Award nominations and two wins in the Reggae Recording of the Year category, Diamond is one of Canada’s most celebrated reggae artists.
The album ‘Dread’ is set to be released early summer 2023, with tour dates to be announced shortly after. Diamond and his band, The Movement of Ahryel, have gone from opening for international reggae powerhouses to becoming a powerhouse themselves. Their music has touched the hearts of many, and they continue to spread their message of love and unity through their music.
It is great to hear another Diamond and Finn’s collaboration and the anticipation for their upcoming new album. The early 90s Dancehall sound and the addition of Tiffanie Malvo bring back memories of the golden era of dancehall while also keeping it fresh and current. It is no surprise that Diamond continues to receive recognition for his music, and we can’t wait to see what else he has in store.
