Jevi1 Making Waves Worldwide

His delivery is as smooth as his personality. Jev1, born Jevon Thompson, is a young and versatile dancehall sensation taking the Jamaican music industry by storm. His new single, “Long Mountain”, is making waves in the USA and enjoys rotation on many traditional and internet radio stations across the country, as well as in Canada, Ghana, England, and Europe.

With just four years in music, Jev1 has generated a significant buzz with his versatility, seamlessly blending traditional dancehall rhythms with modern styles and genres. His music is a fusion of infectious beats, clever wordplay, and authentic storytelling, resonating with fans of all ages.

Despite his cool demeanor, once Jev1 hits the stage, he transforms into an unrivaled dancehall artiste, belting out songs such as “Sensor”, “When”, “Fast”, “Doh Trust”, and “Who You”, much to the delight of his fans. Jev1 has garnered many street credits in his hometown, Portmore, and his alma mater, Hydel High, where his peers constantly demand his unique sound and electrifying performances. He has performed at many community events, receiving much praise for his lyrics, presence, and delivery.

Jev1 is not just a talented artiste but also a passionate performer who brings an unparalleled level of energy and enthusiasm to his performances. One of his most memorable moments was being called to the stage at the International Dancehall Show, Sting, in December 2023. Though a brief performance, Jev1 says it was one of the highlights of his life.

“It was a good feel, short but great,” says Jev1, who sees himself becoming a household name in dancehall worldwide in the next two years. “I want to bring dancehall to the world. I see myself traveling the world and taking dancehall all over,” he added. “But I need to cement my craft here in Jamaica,” Jev1 emphasized.

“Me ready to take the music seriously now,” said the young artiste, revealing that he has been doing a series of international interviews, mostly with radio stations in New York. “Me realize say, ‘Long Mountain’ build up a huge fanbase for me, and the feedback from industry insiders and fans is just tremendous,” he added. “Especially when dem say me have a Masicka sound, and true a big artiste that, and one who I look up to as a genna, it make me feel great.”
