Jango Thriller

After taking an extended break from music, Jango Thriller returned in 2022 with an album, aptly titled ‘Rejuvenate’. Although he was away for nearly two decades, the London-born singer believes the break did him a world of good.

“Although my absence from the stage stemmed over two decades, I was always active; creating and writing songs, and partaking in different scenarios behind the scenes,” he said. “Being one of the primary members of the Dennis Brown Memorial Organization (New York), producing various artists’ compilation albums and creating harmonies for studio recordings kept me very busy.”

‘Never Too Much’, one of the songs from ‘Rejuvenate’, is currently number 27 on the Foundation Radio Network’s Top 30 Reggae Chart.  Born in the United Kingdom to Jamaican parents, Jango Thriller spent most of his formative years in Kingston. It was there that his interest in music peaked, and he made his recording debut during the early 1980s.

His first song, ‘Yuh nuh Wrong’ was produced by Computer Paul. Several singles followed and while he recorded other songs after migrating to the United States, Jango Thriller stepped away from music in the early 2000s to deal with more serious matters.

“Making the choice to take a break from the limelight and focus on my children’s development, providing stability and watching them grow was very important to me. Being a father to them became my primary priority, and it is the option I will always choose first and foremost,” he said.

Jango Thriller plans to release new songs this summer and is already working on his next album, which he hopes will be available next year.
