Many people believe in second chances for relationships. Some even get married to the same person twice. G Cole sings about such situations in ‘Forgiven’, his latest song which is produced by Ed Robinson. He wrote it based on experiences of some of his friends, but G Cole says he is an unlikely candidate for a revived relationship.
“I’ve definitely had people from my past try to revisit a relationship, but once I’ve moved on, I’ve moved on, no interest in going backwards. Imagine how silly I would feel being in my second season of the same miserable relationship,” he said. “Tell me you wouldn’t laugh at your friend if he got divorced from the same woman twice.”
‘Forgiven’ continues G Cole’s reputation of writing songs based on personal experience. ‘Peace of Mind Is a Holiday’ was inspired by the tranquility of a vacation, while ‘My Father’s Song’ is an ode to fatherhood.
“It is definitely more natural to draw on real-life scenarios when writing songs, it’s about how vulnerable you are capable of being, or want to be,” said G Cole. ‘Forgiven’ is expected to be one of the tracks on his fourth album, scheduled for release later this year.
Based in South Florida where he works as a broadcaster, G Cole is from Ocho Rios. His previous albums are ‘This Music Vol 1 Return to Vintage’, ‘Ocho Rios’ and ‘This Music’.
