Drastic: From Antigua to Canada, Charting the Rise of a Multi-talented Entertainer

With the success of his reggae song “Red” in 2021, Antiguan entertainer Drastic is set to release more dancehall and reggae tunes in 2023. The multi-talented artist, who is currently in Canada, just wrapped up a tour and is headed to Trinidad for the country’s carnival.

Drastic, who is a member of the Dem-iLand Boyz group, was born in Antigua and began his music career professionally in 2007 after winning the first-ever Virgin Islands Idol title in St. Thomas. He has since collaborated with various notable artists in the music industry, including Nailah Blackman and Sean Kingston, and has been recognized for his achievements with award wins and video countdown placements.

Drastic signed a deal with Brooklyn Knights Entertainment to release his lead single “Show Up.” The single was a blend of Caribbean, Hip-Hop and Pop sounds and received over 2 million streams on Spotify. He has since released other hit singles, including “Guava Jam” and “EASE” and continues to produce music across various genres, including Reggae, Dancehall, and Soca. He aims to showcase Caribbean culture through his music and considers himself a Caribbean artist.

Throughout his career, Drastic has also been a brand ambassador for various companies and performed at several Caribbean carnivals. He plans to continue to grow his music career and take advantage of the opportunities available to him in Canada.
