Reggae singer Clancy J.R. is in an upbeat mood as he promotes his new single titled ‘The Way to My Heart’.
“My new single is doing very well I’m happy with the response it’s receiving from DJs in various parts of the world including Jamaica, the US, England, Europe and Africa. I’m not surprised that it’s doing so well because it’s a beautiful love song and everyone can relate to a good love song,” said the artiste.
Clancy J.R. says ‘The Way to My Heart’ was inspired by a heartbreaking experience.
“This song is about a lady that I loved deeply who left me for what she thought would be greener pastures. It was a very painful experience that lingered in my mind for a long time. So, I channeled all the painful emotions that I felt into this song. I had the idea for quite some time, but I never wrote the song until my friend Chilli gave me a rhythm. As soon as I listened to it all the lyrics just came flowing from my mind,” he said.
Produced by Bassmann Records and One Pop Music ‘The Way to My Heart’ was released in May. It is available on all digital platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.
Clancy J.R. recently performed at a series of events in Florida including the Sweet Jamaica Independence Festival which was held at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center in Florida on August 4.
“I had an awesome time performing for my fans at this event. My performance included renditions of popular songs done by other artistes and some of my originals including ‘The Way to My Heart’.
Clancy J.R. is currently working on some upcoming projects with several music industry luminaries including Sly Dunbar, Rory Baker, Charles “Chilli” Petrus, Lynford “Fatta” Marshall and Norman “Tenor” Ferguson-Walker.
