‘St. Thomas mi Born’ is the title of singer Richie Flo’s EP, tentatively scheduled for release late this year. It includes the song, ‘Another Day’, produced by Dean Fraser.
‘Another Day’ was released in late 2022 and hears the Toronto-based artist working for the first time with the veteran saxophonist whom he met through a mutual friend.
“I was connected to Dean Fraser by Cara Wilson Weatle of Showtime Services. She heard some of the previous releases from my album ‘Life, Love & Music’ and suggested that it would be great for me to work with him,” said Richie Flo.
He disclosed that the upcoming EP will have seven reggae/dancehall songs, a blend aimed at expanding his fan base. It is dedicated to St. Thomas, his home parish, a coastal region located in eastern Jamaica which has produced acts like Bushman and Skillibeng.
Richie Flo kicked off his recording career in 2006. Back then, he was a deejay but by the time he moved to Canada five years later, his sound had evolved.
He commented on the music scene in his adopted country. “It hasn’t changed much since I moved to Canada. Reggae music is well-received, there are lots of talented artists that are helping to spread the culture worldwide,” said Richie Flo.
