Andru Branch & Halfway Tree Releases New Single

Andru Branch & Halfway Tree are excited to announce the release of their new single, ‘You’re The Best Thing’, available on all major streaming platforms starting Friday, June 28, 2024. This vibrant reggae rendition of the 80s pop ballad by Paul Weller of The Style Council and The Jam features the exceptional talents of James Shaw on saxophone and John Parker on guitar.

“Andru Branch & Halfway Tree make internationally recognized reggae music of the highest order,” praises the Halifax Jazz Festival.

The award-winning Canadian recording artist Andru Branch, who named his band Halfway Tree after the bustling music district in Kingston, has collaborated with many of Jamaica’s most celebrated musicians. His single ‘Keep On Keepin’ On’, a Juno-nominated collaboration with members of The Wailers, was recently named one of Exclaim! Magazine’s “Essential Canadian Reggae Tracks,” alongside tracks by Drake and Justin Bieber.

Celebrating 30 years of packed dance floors, Andru Branch & Halfway Tree continue to inspire fans around the globe with their message of equal rights and social justice. As they work on their fifth studio album, their music remains gloriously hypnotic and their message positively uplifting.

Exclaim! Magazine describes their sound as “nothing less than stunning,” while The Sunday Herald of Kingston, Jamaica, notes, “Branch’s music is nothing like the new crossover/hip hop style of reggae. It sounds more like the Marley-inspired tunes all the world has come to know and love.”

The Jamaica Star highlights their inspiration from reggae pioneers like Steel Pulse, delivering a timely message of love and unity. Renowned Bob Marley lecturer, author, and reggae historian Roger Steffens adds, “Positive and constructive, harmonic and infectious, it’s the perfect soundtrack for these troubled times.”
