Blazing Sounds from Krueshef

A spiritual person, Krueshef makes no secret about the role religion plays in his life. He expresses those beliefs in ‘My Sound’ and ‘Blaze Dem Up’, his latest songs.

The singles were released in January and May, respectively. ‘My Sound’, which features Lawgiver, a Jamaican deejay based in Los Angeles, was released in January, while ‘Blaze Dem Up’ came out in May.

“Krueshef’s sound brings reggae and dancehall together at its finest. It’s full of love, peace, rebuke, truth, and the Father and Son principles from the Bible to educate and to self-reflect on one’s own ways, but ultimately to be a better person,” said Krueshef, who is originally from St. Croix in the United States Virgin Islands.

As a youth in St. Croix, Krueshef was introduced to Jamaican music through the songs of roots legends like Bob Marley, and dancehall heavyweights like Bounty Killer, two of his biggest influences.

Since he began recording music over 20 years ago, the Colorado-based artist has dabbled in both genres.

“Both genres I am very comfortable with because I grew up listening and making songs to both legendary riddims for fun and for the love of music. I still love listening to Bob Marley and the latest dancehall kings,” he said.

‘My Sound’ is co-produced by Krueshef, Lawgiver, Steely and Clevie, Jtwist and Kimani. ‘Blaze Dem Up’ is co-produced by Austin Joseph and Lloyd Laing.
