Chabano Nkani Salutes the Black Woman

An admirer of feminine beauty, Chabano Nkani pays homage to the Nubian queen on ‘Woman of My Dreams’, his latest song, which he wrote and produced. Released in early May, it was recorded for his Isle of Springs Records label.

The Connecticut-based artist stressed that while he has indiscriminate tastes in women, he puts the black woman on a pedestal.

“The song was definitely written to pay homage to the black woman. In the past, I have been with women of different races. However, the black/African woman undoubtedly has a special place in my heart,” said Chabano Nkani.

‘Woman of My Dreams’ is his second song for 2026, following ‘Close to You’. Both are expected to be featured on his album, which is scheduled for release late this year.

Born Richard Brown in Kingston, Chabano Nkani has been recording music for over 20 years. Early in his career, he did songs for top labels such as ‘In the Streetz (‘Showers of Blessings’), which at the time was a stomping ground for top acts like Mr. Vegas, Hawkeye and Chico.

He also did a cover of Kenny Rogers’ ‘‘Write Your Name Across my Heart’ for the B-Rich label.

Chabano Nkani is also a producer, who has directed T.O.K, Warrior King, Luciano, Natural Black, Half Pint, Kirk Davis and Hawkeye on songs for Isle of Springs Records.
