Following a successful mini tour of Europe, Zamunda turns his sights on Canada where he is scheduled to visit in November for three shows. The gigs will take place in Winnipeg and Toronto.
On November 9, the roots singer is slated to perform at CPR Restaurant in Winnipeg. One week later, he is at Jamaica Hall, also in that city. Date and venue for the Toronto show is expected to be announced soon.
In July, Zamunda did seven shows in Helsinki, Finland, Vienna, Austria and Hannover and Berlin, Germany. It was his maiden solo tour of the continent. “Di important thing was to keep pushing an’ spreading Jah works because di world need di message an’ consciousness,” he said.
Many of those messages are found on ‘Jah Love Surround Me’, Zamunda’s second album which was released in early 2023. It contains songs such as ‘Jah Love Remix’ (with Dre Island and Popcaan) as well as collaborations with Capleton, Anthony B, Jah Cure and Louie Culture. Zamunda is expected to return to Europe in the winter for more shows.
This has been an active year for the dreadlocked artist who hails from rural St. Ann parish on Jamaica’s north coast. Zamunda signed with Florida-based Natures Way Entertainment to manage his career, and released covers of Sonny and Cher’s ‘I Got You Babe’ (a collaboration with Macka Diamond) and Chris Brown’s ‘Angel Numbers’ (his version is known as ‘Energy’).
