A committed Christian, Wingydanejah believes that no matter how dire the situation, God has the answer. That is the message behind ‘I’m Not Alone’, his latest song which he did with Da’Ville and Kierian the Light.
Released in November, it is produced by Kent Murphy. Like many Christians, Wingydanejah looks to God whenever temptation calls. “Faith is absolutely crucial in times of temptation. It’s the anchor that keeps you grounded and prevents you from falling into situations that could lead you astray,” he said.
This is his second collaboration in a year with Da’Ville. Their first was ‘I Need Your Presence’ which also featured American rapper Kidd Lee. Wingydanejah previously worked with Kierian The Light, who is from Houston, Texas, on ‘Get To Know You’.
Originally from Portmore in Jamaica, Wingydanejah has been recording songs from the 1990s. He started as a dancehall act before converting to Christianity. Da’Ville, known for secular hits like ‘Always on My Mind’, has a similar story, which Wingydanejah credits for their strong chemistry. “Da’Ville is more than a collaborator, he’s like a brother to me. Our bond and authenticity allow us to connect with people on a deeper level, and together, we can make an even greater impact,” he said.
