Tiffanie Malvo, one of Canada’s brightest rising stars in the dancehall scene, has made a roaring return to music with her latest single, “Money Bunx.” After taking a break to embrace motherhood, it seems that this life-changing experience has only sharpened her musical prowess. Malvo’s powerful delivery on the track is a reminder to her fans that she never truly left the studio, despite her hiatus.
“I took some time to take on my new job (being a mom),” Malvo explained. “I wanted something that would grab people’s attention and show them ‘I’m back.’ I hope the message they get is that I still got it, and I’m back with fire. I want them to vibe and dance.”
“Money Bunx” marks Tiffanie Malvo’s first single of 2024, a bold anthem that showcases not just her return, but her evolution as an artist. Reflecting on her journey, Malvo credits motherhood with giving her a fresh perspective on her music and career.
“When you take time away from anything, it gives you the chance to reflect,” she shared. “It’s about seeing how you can fix things, or do them differently. I’ve got more fire now, and you can hear it. My reason for making music has changed. It’s not that my music before wasn’t good, but now, it’s going to be great because the hunger has shifted.”
According to Malvo the creative process behind “Money Bunx” was nothing short of inspiring. Working alongside producer Smokeshop and fellow dancehall artist Ribba Dan, Malvo found herself in an easy flow, with ideas and energy sparking from every direction.
“The creative process was just vibes,” Malvo said. “I was vibing to the beat with Ribba Dan, and he just jumped up and said, ‘Queen fi di dot who start it.’ The rest was history. We didn’t spend much time in the studio because the beat made it easy to cultivate the sound—it made me wanna bounce.”
The riddim, crafted by Kunleydikulprit of Ward 21 fame, was tailored specifically for “Money Bunx,” adding a unique sonic texture that complements Malvo’s style. Despite dancehall being a highly competitive genre, Tiffanie has always found ways to stand out.
“I’ve always been different from the jump,” she said confidently. “My sound, the way I dress, it’s always stood out. So being myself has always worked, and I stick to that. I stay in my lane.”
Since its release, “Money Bunx” has been making waves, with fans loving Malvo’s more direct and raw approach. This track shows a new side to the artist—unapologetic, bold, and ready to claim her place.
But this is just the beginning of Malvo’s next chapter. Fans can expect more singles and videos in the coming months, as well as several live performances. Plus, she’s hinted at a major project dropping next year, which promises to be a game-changer.
