The Reggae North Cultural Association is once again setting the stage to honor and celebrate the incredible talents within the Canadian Reggae and Dancehall music scene. With a mission to recognize excellence and highlight significant contributions to the industry, the Reggae North Music Awards (RNMA) continues to provide well-deserved recognition to artists, producers, and industry professionals who shape Canada’s vibrant reggae landscape.
Submissions for the 2025 RNMA are officially open, inviting artists, producers, managers, radio stations, publicists, music executives, and record labels to submit their nominations. To qualify, nominees must be Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents who have maintained residency in Canada during the eligibility period from November 1, 2023, to November 1, 2024.
The RNMA Selections Committee will meticulously review all submissions, focusing on composition, melody, and lyrical quality. While national distribution is not required, artists must have released music within the eligibility window, ensuring accessibility to Canadian audiences. With 19 diverse categories, including Male and Female Vocalists of the Year and Top Album/EP of the Year, the awards provide a comprehensive platform to showcase Canadian Reggae and Dancehall talent.
Exciting new additions for 2025 include the Top Club/Party Reggae Dancehall DJ category and the introduction of a second Living Legend Award, which will honor individuals who have made a lasting impact on reggae music in Canada.
Submissions begin March 1 and the deadline for submissions is May 1, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST, with nominations set to be announced on or before July 1, 2025, via the official RNMA website. The highly anticipated awards ceremony will take place on September 28, 2025, at the prestigious Rose Theatre in Brampton, bringing together top artists and industry leaders for a night of celebration.
