Submissions Close for 2025 RNMA with Entries from Coast to Coast

Submissions for the 2025 Reggae North Music Awards (RNMA) officially closed on May 1, 2025, with an impressive number of entries that reflect the growing enthusiasm within Canada’s reggae and dancehall music community. Artists from across the country—from British Columbia to Nova Scotia—submitted their work, signaling not only the widespread appeal of the awards but also the increasing vitality of reggae and dancehall in Canada.

“The increase in submissions this year is overwhelming and inspiring,” said Mark “Tony Anthony” Bennett, founder of the RNMA. “It proves that reggae and dancehall artists in Canada are hungry for recognition and are embracing this platform as their own.”

Organizers have announced that the nominees for the 2025 edition will be revealed on Monday, June 2nd. Anticipation is high as fans and artists await to see which names will rise to the top in nineteen categories that will be up for grabs, including Reggae Artist of the Year, Dancehall Recording of the Year, and more.

The main event—the 2025 Reggae North Music Awards—will take place on Saturday, September 28th at the Rose Theatre in Brampton, Ontario, a fitting venue to host the celebration of this vibrant genre.

As the reggae and dancehall scene continues to grow in Canada, the RNMA is fast becoming more than just an awards show—it’s a movement that connects artists, empowers communities, and celebrates cultural identity through music.
