Step by Step for Narado Williams

Last year, Narado Williams made his acting debut as a young Peter Tosh in ‘Bob Marley: One Love’, the Paramount Pictures biopic about the reggae legend. Recently, the singer/musician released ‘Step by Step’, his first song.

According to Williams, the song took shape in the famed community where Marley and Tosh started their careers. ‘Step by Step’ started in November in Trench Town, at 4th Street, first as a jam session with some friends. Then it took a turn when I got a vision of (Emperor Haile) Selassie sitting between the cherubims. Then, ‘Step by Step’ was planted,” he said.

Williams also played guitar on the song which he describes as “revolutionary spirited music” aimed at empowering persons of color. Mentored by legendary session guitarist Earl “Chinna” Smith, he said ‘Step by Step’ is one of several songs he wrote and recorded.

“It is paving the way for songs like ‘Binghi Beginnings’ and “’When I Was Just a Boy’,” the lanky artist recalled.

Williams’ height and skill on the guitar helped land him the small role of young Tosh in ‘Bob Marley: One Love’, which did well at the global box office. While enjoying that experience, he sees bigger things on the horizon.

“The Marley movie did great on screens. Now, the mission,” said Williams.
