‘Don’t Fall’, Singer Irie’s song inspired by a recent social media post by Minister Marion Hall, has been officially released. Produced by Norman “Azee” Owen, it addresses what many perceive as a moment of vulnerability by the former Lady Saw.
“I love Marion Hall aka Lady Saw and I know she was truly trying to walk in God’s way, and when I saw her on Instagram crying and saying that she going to step out of the church and deal with the situation that people doing to her, I felt that as a friend of hers, what come to mind was to do this to show my love and help strengthen her not to give up,” said Singer Irie.
In June, Hall’s defeated post made social media rounds, sparking rumors that she was about to give up on Christianity and return to dancehall music.
“I’m about to make some of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made in my life, which may take me back to a place, where I would never dream of going back, but seems to be heading back there, from this moment on”, she wrote.
After seeing the post, the New Jersey-based Singer Irie quickly wrote the lyrics for what became ‘Don’t Fall’. Minister Hall has not clarified her post.
Singer Irie, who has been a recording artist since the late 1980s, performed at Rebel Salute in January and Reggae Sumfest in July.
