Jamaica-born Sandy Daley’s play, ‘Whose Vagina Is It, Really?’, will be shown at the Hamilton Fringe Festival in July. It was selected after she won that event’s annual lottery in December.
Produced by her Chocolate Dollz Productions, ‘Whose Vagina is it Really?’ will be shown seven times at the July 6-17 festival which has grown considerably since first held in 2003. It attracts an estimated 20,000 people annually.
Daley also stars in the satirical comedy which is about “a single woman’s struggle to find her Mr. Right.” ‘Whose Vagina Is it Really?’ is based on her book of the same name which came out in 2010. It evolved into a stage production which debuted last July at the Al Green Theatre in Toronto and played the Toronto Fringe Festival.
“Having just come off the high of seeing my play on such an iconic stage, I’m beyond excited to have my play mounted at the Hamilton Fringe Festival in 2023,” said Daley. “We had such a great time at the Toronto Fringe, and I plan to up the ante even more-so with this upcoming production in Hamilton.”
‘Whose Vagina Is It, Really?’ is scheduled for the San Diego Fringe Festival in May.
Daley was born in Kingston, Jamaica’s capital. She has lived in Canada since age 15 and has worked as a journalist in broadcast and print media in Toronto and New York.
