Richie Flo Honors His Jamaican Roots with “St. Thomas Mi Born”

Reggae singer Richie Flo has unveiled his highly anticipated album, “St. Thomas Mi Born,” an 11-track celebration of heritage, resilience, and international unity. Released on August 31, 2025, the project is now available on all major digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.

The album is both a deeply personal tribute and a bold step onto the global reggae stage. Infused with roots, dancehall, and lovers’ reggae, “St. Thomas Mi Born” also embraces international sounds, reflecting the genre’s far-reaching influence. It features powerhouse collaborations with legendary producers such as Dean Fraser, Chris Birch, and Austria’s House of Riddim, who produced the uplifting lead single “Reggae (Do What We Want).”

For Richie Flo, the project is more than music—it’s a homecoming. “This album is personal—it’s about remembering where I come from, honoring St. Thomas, and giving the youth something uplifting. It’s more like my love letter to St. Thomas,” he explains. “I may have lived in Canada for over 15 years, but St. Thomas is always in my heart. Growing up in St. Thomas taught me to appreciate the simple things, picking mangoes, going to the river, living carefree. Those memories shaped me and reminded me that happiness isn’t about wealth, but about celebrating life.”

Among the standout moments is “Another Day,” a track first released in 2022 and produced by reggae great Dean Fraser. Richie Flo also extends reggae’s global reach through collaborations with Ghanaian artist Major Steppa on tracks 9 and 11, forging a symbolic bridge between Jamaica and Africa through music’s universal language.

“St. Thomas Mi Born” also carries a strong inspirational message, aiming to uplift and empower, especially the youth. Songs echo themes of cultural pride, love, and perseverance—values Richie Flo has championed since he began his recording journey in 2006. After migrating to Canada in 2015, he established himself as a vital voice in Toronto’s reggae scene, evolving from deejay to vocalist and live performer. This release marks his fourth EP and follows his full-length debut album “Life, Love & Music.”
