Her new single, ‘Rise’, produced by Dr. Rad and released under the Starliners Entertainment label, is now available on all digital platforms. With this release, Tonya P continues to solidify her place as one of Canada’s most consistent reggae artists.

Tonya P’s musical pedigree is undeniable, being the daughter of the internationally known Jamaican promoter and businessman Clive “Kubba” Pringle, the mastermind behind the iconic Bob Marley Birthday Bash in Negril. Music runs deep in her veins, and it shows in every note she sings and every lyric she writes. A Juno nominee and a recipient of multiple awards, including the prestigious Canadian Reggae Music Award, Tonya P has a remarkable ability to connect with her audience on an emotional level.

Her lyrics, often drawn from personal experiences, resonate with a raw honesty and vulnerability that pierces through the soul. This is evident in ‘Rise’, a song that showcases her phenomenal vocal prowess and lyrical depth.

Tonya P’s star continues to rise, as evidenced by her nominations in the upcoming Reggae North Music Awards, which will be held at the Rose Theatre in Brampton, Ontario, on September 29th. She is up for three major awards: Top Female Vocalist of the Year, Top Reggae Song of the Year (Female), and Songwriter of the Year. These nominations highlight her growing influence in the reggae music scene and her ability to create music that not only entertains but also inspires.

Her impressive career has seen her perform on some of Canada’s most prestigious stages, including the Calgary Reggae Fest, Montreal Reggae Fest, Beer Fest, Jamaica Day, and Rasta Fest. Tonya P has also graced the stage of the Bob Marley Birthday Bash in Negril, Jamaica, for several years, where her performances have been nothing short of electrifying. She has shared the spotlight with reggae legends such as Beenie Man, Freddie McGregor, Marcia Griffiths, Bunny Wailer, Etana, and Toots Hibbert, as well as global icons like Public Enemy and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

In addition to her singles, Tonya P released her highly anticipated debut album ‘Concrete Rose’,  a 14-track project that features all original lyrics penned by the artist herself. The album has been well received, earning praise for its authenticity and the emotional depth of its songs. “Concrete Rose” continues to open doors for Tonya P, allowing her to reach new audiences and climb to greater heights in her career.
