Ras Zukes in Island Paradise

One year ago, singer Ras Zukes experienced bittersweet emotions. He was mourning the loss of his mother, who died in September 2024. Four months later, he celebrated the release of ‘Mama Tell Me That‘, his first album.

The New York-based singer is in sunny form on ‘Island Paradise’, a song produced by Trainline Records out of South Florida. While ‘Mama Tell Me That’ is a somber tribute to his mother, Ras Zukes longs for a sensuous empress from the West Indies.

“The ideal island lady, in my eyes, embodies strength and grace, with a heart as warm as the sun and a spirit that dances with the ocean breeze,” said Ras Zukes. “She’s confident, grounded, and embraces life with passion and kindness, reflecting the rich culture and resilience of island communities.”

‘Island Paradise’ has a different feel from most of his previous songs. It is classic easy-listening reggae, a stark contrast to the dancehall tracks he has done in the past five years.

But even as he promotes ‘Island Paradise’, Ras Zukes still finds time to pitch his debut album, which is produced by Kenergi Music,  an independent label based in South Florida.

“I’m truly satisfied with the response to the album. It’s been inspiring to see how the music resonates with so many people, sparking joy and reflection. I’m still actively promoting it because every song holds a piece of my journey, and sharing that continues to be a rewarding experience,” he said.
