Reggae singer Rad Dixon is preparing to drop his sophomore album, “Africa Calling Calling,” in early 2026. The project, produced by Tasjay Productions, leans heavily into the roots-reggae sound that shaped Dixon’s upbringing in Manchester.
James Smith Sr., head of Tasjay Productions, said that the upcoming album will feature a number of previously released singles, including “Know Yourself,” “Trodding,” and “Cry of My People.”
Rad Dixon made his album debut in 2023 with “Hard Times,” followed by the “Giving Thanks for Life Riddim” EP the next year. He says his recently released track “Nah Trust”—a pointed commentary on corrupt political figures—helped define the direction of the new album.
“It is aimed at any politician who is weaponizing the youths to carry out evil actions,” Dixon explained.
Growing up in Manchester during the 1990s, Dixon was immersed in a thriving roots-reggae scene. The parish served as a cultural hub during a pivotal rebirth in dancehall music, propelled by artists such as Garnet Silk, Tony Rebel, and Kulcha Knox.
Most of Dixon’s catalogue—including songs like “Sweet Caroline,” “Write Your Name,” and “Baby Don’t Worry”—has also been produced under the Tasjay Productions banner.
