Tad’s International Record revisits a classic beat for their latest compilation album. ‘Reggae Party Time’ is the title of the set which has 22 songs driven by The Heptones’ ‘Party Time’. The album, produced by Tad Dawkins Jr, is scheduled to be released on February 21.
It contains songs by top artistes including Tanya Stephens, Ginjah, Richie Spice, Jesse Royal, Chezidek, Fantan Mojah, Warrior King, Hezron and Kumar. Ginjah, who has re-cast himself as a lovers rock act, delivers the ballad, ‘Sweet Like Sugah’. Hezron, who enjoyed a strong 2024, contributes ‘We’ve Made It’ while Tanya Stephens does ‘Some Kinda Madness’. ‘Push Out Your Light’ is the name of Richie Spice’s song, while Kumar’s track is ‘Those Lies’.
Not to be left out are the veterans and upcoming acts. Representing the former are Anthony Red Rose with ‘So Wrong’, while Khalia represents the fresh faces on ‘Devil in Disguise’. Given ‘Party Time’s timeless horn intro, an instrumental was appropriate for ‘Reggae Party Time’. Dean Fraser, reggae’s premier saxophonist, fits the bill with ‘This is Happiness’.
