Paris Ivy: Montreal’s Rising Star

In a year filled with fresh talent and unexpected nominations, one name on the 2025 Reggae North Music Awards (RNMA) nominee list is turning heads: Paris Ivy, the 21-year-old rising star out of Montreal.

With her soulful voice, genre-blending style, and undeniable presence, Ivy has earned nominations in three major categories—Top Female Vocalist of the Year, Top Reggae Single of the Year (Female) for her uplifting anthem “Mek it to the Top,” and Top Trap/Fusion Dancehall Song of the Year for the mesmerizing “Overcome.”

A relative newcomer to the national reggae spotlight, Paris Ivy is no stranger to the stage. Since beginning her musical journey at just 15, she has brought her unique sound to high-profile events such as Jamaica Day, Canada Day, Spice Island Cultural Event, the Ovarian Cancer Canada fundraiser, and Grenada Day, among others.

Her latest release, “Don’t Go” (produced by White Blackz), dropped this past March and has been steadily gaining traction across airwaves and social platforms. Ivy’s music has already been featured on prominent radio stations including CKUT 90.3 FM, CISM 89.3 FM, CKVL 100.1 FM, CBC Radio Canada 88.5 FM, and even CBC TV Montreal with Duke Eatmon and Sabrina Marandola.

Speaking about her nominations, Paris Ivy said,

“I heard about my nomination from Gordon ‘Gee Weekes’ on CJLO 1690 AM. I was super excited and checked the Reggae North Music Awards website right away—turns out I am nominated in 3 categories! I was so happy I actually cried.”

The young artist plans to attend the awards ceremony and is eager to meet her fellow nominees:

“It would be an honour and a privilege to be awarded. I can’t wait to be there.”

With musical influences like Dennis Brown, Garnett Silk, Barrington Levy, and Buju Banton, Paris Ivy blends roots, culture, and sultry flair to craft a sound that’s all her own. Her blend of reggae, pop, and trap/dancehall elements make her a dynamic force in a new generation of Canadian reggae artists.

As she prepares for the big stage at the 2025 RNMA, one thing is clear: Paris Ivy is on her way to the throne.
