Determined to achieve the fame and success that has eluded him despite being a brilliant stage performer, dancehall artiste Mr Khool recently decided to release his new single, ‘Drive Out,’ under the stage name Changeaglass.
Produced by Konsequence Muzik, ‘Drive Out’ was released in April, since then, several local and international influencers including Pink Wall, Ricky Tanao, Oh Jenny and United Getto Kids have used the song in TikTok videos.
“After I recorded this song, I decided to run an experiment and release it under the stage name Changeaglass. I wanted to see if a new stage name would help me to generate more attention than I would normally get with my original stage name. When I decided to run this experiment, I honestly didn’t know what to expect but so far it has been a success. The song has gone viral on TikTok,” he said. Drive Out is also receiving tremendous airplay both locally and abroad.
“I’m more than happy with the airplay that my song is getting right now. I have to thank all the DJs in Jamaica, Africa, the US, Canada, Europe, and England who are playing it,” said Mr Khool.
Despite his newfound success with this new moniker, the Mandeville-born deejay says he is not sure if he will continue to use it or keep the old one. “I don’t know if I want to stop using the name Mr Khool, maybe I will or maybe I won’t, but I haven’t made that decision yet.”
Some of Mr Khool’s other songs are ‘Jah Know Jah Know,’ ‘Bush Mask,’ ‘One Touch’ and ‘Bar Sheller’.
