Moses I is Di Glama kid

It’s been 26 years since Moses I teamed with Capleton for ‘Crazy Look’, a funky song that had dances rocking throughout Jamaica and its Diaspora. The Rastafarian artist is back with ‘Di Glama’, a self-produced single also aimed at the hip crowd.

In October, Moses I performed ‘Di Glama’ at Rub A Dub Thursday, a popular weekly dance in Kingston hosted by veteran deejay Peter Metro. It hears him introducing a fresh hybrid sound.

“It is about a new style and herbs with different, outstanding and dramatic sounds,” Moses I explained.

‘Di Glama’ is marketed and released by his company, Livon Music Production, the driving force behind several of Moses I’s previous songs including ‘Repatriation’ and ‘I Could Make You Dance’.

As a pre-release, he introduced ‘Di Glama’ at an event that attracts a ‘vintage’ and contemporary audience.

“It was a big joy for I to be on Rub A Dub Thursday, as it is a foundation platform for artists,” said Moses I. “It important to stay fresh ‘cause people don’t want to hear di same tings all di time.”

From the Papine area of Kingston, Moses I developed a love for roots-reggae while going to dances there during the 1980s. His early musical heroes included singers like Jacob Miller and Junior Delgado, but during the 1990s he changed gears by embracing the frenetic dancehall sound, which resulted in ‘Crazy Look’ which remains his biggest hit.
