Miztrizz & Empress Divine Capture Queen Energy in New Video

Canada’s dancehall scene continues to shine as two of its standout female voices, Miztrizz and Empress Divine, build fresh momentum with their collaborative single “Snapshot.” Released in the latter part of 2025, the track has already been receiving strong support across multiple circles, and now, with the release of its official music video, the song is poised to reach even greater heights.

The concept for “Snapshot” originated with Miztrizz, who revealed that the song was initially created for a riddim project that never materialized. Rather than letting the idea fade, she revisited it with renewed purpose.
“I’m a firm believer that every song deserves to be heard, and because I adored the concept of the song’s strength for women upliftment, I dug it up out of the archives and revamped it,” Miztrizz shared. “So, to be able to actually complete the song, and release it as was intended, is a triumph in itself.”

As the track evolved with a new riddim and stronger lyrical direction, its energy grew to the point where Miztrizz felt another powerful feminine voice was needed. Empress Divine quickly emerged as her top choice, admired for her commanding presence and vocal strength. Her agreement to join the record added an extra layer of authority and balance to the hook, elevating the song’s message of confidence and celebration.

For Miztrizz, “Snapshot” holds special significance as part of her six-track EP Rain SZN.” She described the song as a key piece of a meaningful project centered on positive feminine energy. According to her, the track promotes celebrating achievements and refusing to let anyone stand in the way of personal success—a concept that has always been at the heart of the song. She hopes listeners, especially women, connect with their “inner royalty” through the music and feel inspired to acknowledge and celebrate their wins.

The song also reflects the evolving direction of reggae and dancehall in Canada. Empress Divine noted that “Snapshot” captures where the genres are headed locally, blending a contemporary sound with timeless messages that have long defined reggae and dancehall culture—particularly messages of empowerment and resilience.

The newly released music video further amplifies that vision. Miztrizz explained that every visual element was intentional, with a clear focus on luxury and high-quality aesthetics made possible through the work of Goldmine Media. Symbolic nods to Toronto’s baseball team, the Blue Jays, were also embedded in the video to commemorate the recent World Series, grounding the visuals firmly in Canadian pride.

Shot across a multi-room staged studio and a popular sports bar, the production team created custom sets that allowed for striking visual fixtures at both locations. The result is a polished, high-end look that complements the song’s confident tone. Miztrizz believes the video represents her artistry by showcasing the level of care she puts into both her music and its visual presentation, while highlighting the strong on-screen chemistry between herself and Empress Divine.

Since the video’s release, fan response has been overwhelmingly positive. Miztrizz shared that even before the final visuals dropped, there was already buzz about how well-orchestrated the shoot was. Once released, the feedback intensified, with fans praising the execution and eagerly asking about upcoming visuals for other songs.

Looking ahead, Miztrizz hints that more collaborations with Empress Divine are likely in the future. For now, however, the focus is on taking the show on the road and performing live together. With the “Snapshot” video now out, the duo is also feeling inspired to develop additional visual concepts tied to the single—further proof that this powerful collaboration is only just getting started.
