UK-based dancehall artiste Macini is currently enjoying a huge buzz with his single titled ‘Bellfoot’. The song, which was released last year on the e7emusic imprint, is currently enjoying strong rotation both locally and overseas.
“When I released this song last year, it didn’t get a lot of support. However, since the start of 2025, I noticed that it began to generate more airplay in several markets. So, my team and I decided to ramp up the promotion behind it,” said Macini.
He said that the promotional campaign has given the song a big boost, and it is getting strong airplay in the UK, the US, Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean.
“It’s also doing well in the parties. I’ve also seen several dancers posting videos featuring themselves dancing to ‘Bellfoot’ on TikTok,” he said.
Macini said that he recently contacted noted dancer Orville Hall to create the official Bellfoot dance. “I also plan to shoot a new video for the song featuring Orville Hall and his crew. My team and I are doing everything to make sure this song becomes a summer hit,” he said.
The deejay, who lists Bounty Killer and Ninja Man as his musical idols, is also gearing up to release another single titled ‘Hurt My Feelings’.
“I don’t want to bombard the people with too many songs at the moment. I have to be strategic with my promotions, but Hurt My Feelings is definitely going to be my next release,” said Macini. He is also working on some new projects that he plans to release later this year.
“Making music is my number one priority, so I am always writing and recording new music. Right now, I am working on tracks for my debut EP, which I plan to drop later this year. I’m also working on some new singles as well.”
Macini, given name Kevin Edwards, originally hails from Mile Gully in Manchester. He completed his education in Jamaica at the Christiana Comprehensive High School in the 1990’s.
