Looking Forward with Isiah Mentor

On ‘Let Them Go’, his latest song, Isaiah Mentor stresses the importance of looking forward and putting what negatives one experienced in life, behind them. The self-produced single was released on August 2.

Being positive, the singer stated, has been his mantra for many years.

“Our brains tend to revisit the past, but I try to leave the past where it belongs — in the past. Those who dwell in the past will be buried in the past,” said Isiah Mentor. “Use it as a lesson, but don’t carry it in the future.”

To help get his message across, he called on some outstanding musicians to play on ‘Let Them Go’. They include drummer Sly Dunbar, and bass guitarist Danny “Danny Bassie” Dennis and keyboardist Paul “Wrongmove” Crossdale of The Firehouse Crew.

Although ‘Let Them Go’ is only his second song for 2025, Isaiah Mentor has big plans for the remainder of the year. That will set the pace for an even more productive 2026, especially in his biggest market.

“My plan for the year is to release a well-produced song with musicians and producers from around the world every three to four months. Separately, I record for different independent labels around the world, so I have songs being released regularly, mostly in Europe,” Isiah Mentor explained.

He first toured that continent in 1989 when he was known as Lilly Melody.
