Little Robert Scores big with Out There

‘Out There’ by veteran singer Little Robert is the number one song on the Jamaica Music Countdown Charts’ Top 25 Reggae Singles table. It got to the top spot after 15 weeks in the chart which is compiled by respected Jamaican broadcaster Richie “Richie B” Burgess. The song features Maka Lox, who also produced the roots-reggae single.

‘Out There’ was released three years ago and is one of several songs Little Robert recorded with Maka Lox, a seasoned session guitarist who has worked with Etana and Richie Spice. The track is expected to be part of Little Robert’s upcoming album, scheduled for release in early 2026.

“This album will have melodious sounds, because wi make spiritual music. Wi need some shows, to big up di thing because wi put in di work,” he said.

In early September, Little Robert performed at the Nimba Reggae Festival in Conakry, Guinea. He shared the stage with fellow Jamaicans Ky-Mani Marley, Warrior King, Richie Spice, Jah Mason and Jah Thunder, as well as Guinean star Takana Zion.

“Di feeling was great to know wi contribute to reggae an’ di people take on to it. It was very overwhelming,” said Little Robert, who is from Trench Town in Kingston.

He launched his recording career in the mid-1980s with a cover of Richie Valens’ ‘La Bamba’, produced by legendary studio engineer Osbourne “King Tubby” Ruddock.
