Leba Hibbert is scheduled to return to the United Kingdom this summer for her second tour of that country. The singer has 19 shows confirmed for Wales, England and Scotland, where she toured in 2025.
Dubbed ‘Reggae Got Soul: 50th Anniversary Tour’, it is scheduled to start on May 7 in Cardiff, the Welsh capital, at Y Plas. The three-week trek ends on May 30 at Ashley Hall in Lancaster. ‘Reggae Got Soul’ will also play in the traditionally strong reggae markets of Bristol, London, Leeds, Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester.
‘Reggae Got Soul’ is the title of Toots and The Maytals’ acclaimed 1976 album, released by Island Records. Her father, Toots Hibbert, was the legendary singer of that band; he died in September 2020 at age 77. Largely produced by American Joe Boyd, ‘Reggae Got Soul’ was one of the albums that expanded Jamaican music’s appeal overseas, especially in Europe.
Last April and May, Toots and The Maytals Featuring Leba Hibbert performed in cities such as Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cambridge and London. One year earlier, she and her band toured parts of the United States including South Carolina, New York and New Hampshire.
Leba Hibbert, who recorded songs and toured with her father for many years, is currently completing two albums. One is a collaboration with him and the other is her second solo project.
