Canadian recording artiste Jonelle has joined the Fully Bright initiative, leveraging her brand to support the initiative’s goal of inspiring Jamaican students to prioritise their education.
“I think this initiative aligns with who I am as an artiste. I’m all about the positivity and encouragement,” she shared. “Through my music, the messages in my songs are very relatable to everyone. I will be bringing a positive message through reggae music, which the Jamaican students can connect to.”
Jonelle has expressed confidence that her music can be used as a teaching and motivating tool for students. She said a similar approach was used to motivate pupils in Canada when she attended school.
“When I was in high school music was used to motivate me and to keep me from allowing my emotions to get the best of me. Music is a tool that we all can use to heal ourselves. When we add a message to a great beat, it’s like programming the subconscious mind. The positive message can help transform a negative mind into a positive one,” she reasoned.
The Fully Bright initiative seeks to inform, educate, and entertain students about the importance of education. It was founded by dancehall artiste Shaka Pow, who is a medical doctor.
