Having released his debut EP last December dancehall artiste Jah Lama is confident that he will achieve his musical breakthrough this year.
“I am very proud of this EP it is a wonderful compilation of my best work to date. The feedback to it has been very positive and encouraging. With this project under my belt, I plan to go harder than before with my career. There will be no easing up, this is my year. I am going to make sure that I achieve my breakthrough before the end of the year,” said the artiste.
The eight-song project which is titled ‘Fight the Fight’ was launched by Pandemic Records in December.
“The Fight the Fight stage show was like a dream come true, the love and support that I received from the people in Clarendon was overwhelming. I have to big up Bounty Killer, Turbulence, Little Hero, Prohgres and all the other artistes who performed at the event. I also have to big up the Pandemic Records team for everything they’re doing for my career,” said Jah Lama.
Since its release, several songs from the EP have been receiving strong rotation both locally and overseas.
“I am grateful for all the exposure the songs on the EP are receiving. The project is getting a lot of support from DJs in Jamaica, the US, Canada, Africa, and Europe. It’s a good look for my career.”
The hardworking deejay also revealed that he plans to be very active on stage this year.
“I plan to do a lot of performances this year, most of all I want to perform on Sumfest and Sting. I’m also looking forward to performing on some shows overseas as well.”
