Reggae artist Iley Dread is celebrating a major milestone after his latest single, “Nah Cheat,” climbed to the number one spot on the Canadian Top 20 Reggae and Dancehall chart. The track has also become one the most requested song on Reggae North Radio, solidifying its growing popularity across international audiences.
“Nah Cheat” has been gaining steady momentum, receiving frequent airplay on radio stations throughout Jamaica, the United States, and beyond. Its message of loyalty and respect in relationships has resonated strongly with listeners, particularly female fans. On Reggae North Radio, many have dubbed the song the “Ladies Anthem” for its celebration of virtuous women, whom Iley Dread describes as queens deserving of respect and fidelity.
This achievement marks Iley Dread’s first number one hit in Canada since his earlier success with “Flowers of My Garden,” a classic track that topped charts in Jamaica, Britain, and other territories. The song also earned a nomination at the Juno Awards in 2000 for Best Reggae Recording.
Reflecting on his latest success, Iley Dread expressed confidence in the track’s potential from the start. He credited DJs and radio personalities worldwide for recognizing the song’s appeal early on. He also gave special thanks to DJ Tony Anthony of Reggae North Radio for premiering “Nah Cheat,” helping to spark its initial buzz.
Born and raised in Jamaica, Iley Dread began writing music at just 11 years old and recorded his first professional track at Dynamic Sound Studio in Kingston. Today, he continues to build on that foundation, both as an artist and as CEO of Kings of Kings Records.
The label is currently preparing to release a new single, which Iley Dread describes as a “masterpiece,” signaling more music on the horizon. He also encourages fans worldwide to continue supporting authentic reggae music.
In addition to his chart success, Kings of Kings Records is marking its 31st anniversary with celebratory events. The festivities will take place on May 29 in Montreal at The Caribbean Food Factory and on May 30 in Toronto at the Jamaica Canadian Association. The lineup includes special guests such as Stone Love, Tony Matterhorn, and Richie B from Jamaica.
“Nah Cheat” is now available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms, as Iley Dread’s latest hit continues to gain global traction.
