The Jamaican Canadian Association (JCA) is pleased to announce that the Hope for Jamaica – Hurricane Melissa Relief Concert has successfully raised more than $50,000 to support urgent disaster relief initiatives in Jamaica. This remarkable outcome reflects the enduring generosity, unity, and compassion of our community.
The JCA extends sincere appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the event—including attendees, performers, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners. Your support has delivered meaningful assistance during one of Jamaica’s most difficult periods.
“The outpouring of generosity from our community has been nothing short of inspiring. The funds raised through the Hope for Jamaica – Hurricane Melissa Benefit Relief Concert will play a vital role in helping families recover and rebuild. We are deeply grateful to everyone who stepped forward to support Jamaica in this time of need,” said Dr. Sylvanus Thompson, Chair of the Concert Planning Committee.
While the concert has concluded, relief efforts remain ongoing. The separate online donation campaign is still open, and the JCA encourages continued contributions as Jamaica works to rebuild from the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa. The JCA is also accepting essential supplies, including non-perishable food, hygiene products, baby items, and household necessities.
Donation Drop-Off Location:
Jamaican Canadian Centre

All financial contributions and donated supplies will be delivered to Jamaica’s Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) to support the families and communities most severely impacted by the hurricane.
Together, we have already made a meaningful difference—but the need remains great. Let us continue to stand with Jamaica.
