Most artists take different approaches to writing songs. When looking for that summer hit, even the most prolific writers hit a roadblock. Singjay Honorebel has a simple method, one that he used when writing ‘On Top of The World’, his latest song.
Released in May, it has the classic elements of a summer song. “Actually, when I was writing ‘On Top of The World’, I was thinking melody, catchy and happy lyrical content,” said Honorebel, a popular figure on the South Florida music scene.
The song’s video also debuted two months ago and depicts a flamboyant Sunshine State party scene. It has made the playlist of Tempo, MTV Jam and MTV U, as well as Urban Influencer’s Top 30 Rap Chart.
Born in Jamaica, Honorebel has established himself in South Florida with a number of well-received albums and singles (solo and collaborations) including ‘Shake That Ass’, a 2010 Billboard hit with rapper Pitbull and Jump Smokers.
The enthusiastic response to ‘On Top of The World’ is a continuation of what has been a satisfying career.
“I’m very happy with my career thus far because of all the accomplishments we’ve made and countless barriers we’ve broken through. I feel very blessed to be able to make an impact on the international landscape after so many years in this music industry,” said Honorebel.
