Submissions for the 2026 Reggae North Music Awards opens March 1

Submissions for the 3rd annual Reggae North Music Awards (RNMA), opens on March 1, 2026. The RNMA continue to shine a spotlight on outstanding talent within the Canadian reggae and dancehall community. With a mission to recognize excellence and significant contributions to the Canadian music industry, the awards aim to give artists the public recognition they deserve. The 2026 Awards are in a Community Arts Partnership with the Rose Theatre.

Producers, artists, managers, radio stations, publicists, music executives and record labels are invited to submit nominations for the 2026 RNMA. To be eligible, participants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and have maintained residency in Canada during the eligibility period from Nov. 1, 2024 to Nov. 30, 2025.

The RNMA Selections Committee will review submissions based on composition, melody and lyrics. National distribution is not required, but music must have been released within the eligibility timeframe and be accessible to Canadian audiences. Twenty categories, including Male Vocalist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year and Top Album/EP of the Year, will celebrate the full spectrum of Canadian reggae and dancehall talent.

This year marks the debut of the top gospel recording category, celebrating the gospel community and its contributions to black music in Canada.

The submission deadline is May 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Nominations will be announced on or after June 1, 2026 on the RNMA website. The third annual Reggae North Music Awards will take place on Sept. 27, 2026 at the Rose Theatre in Brampton, bringing together artists, industry professionals and fans for a night of net working, live performances and recognition.
