Ed Robinson Seeks a Sexy Lady

In the1990s, Ed Robinson announced himself as a bona fide dancehall star with songs like ‘Knocking on Heaven’s Door’ and ‘Don’t dis Rude Boys’, which featured Buju Banton.

In recent years, he has released several easy-listening reggae songs and a gospel act. For ‘Sexy Lady’, his latest song, he turns back the hands of time.

Released in January, the uptempo song hears the veteran singer longing for a voluptuous partner. Having made his mark in dancehall’s most commercially successful period, Robinson feels at home on raucous tracks like ‘Sexy Lady’.

“Dancehall has always been a part of me. I never left it; I’m simply showing another side of Ed Robinson. The energy and the vibe are still strong,” he said.

The self-produced ‘Sexy Lady’ is his follow-up to ‘Pitta Patta’, a cover of Ernie Smith’s classic song from the early 1970s that was released in late 2025. Both songs are a stark contrast to ‘God’s Presence’, a 14-song gospel album Robinson released last June.

Whatever genre he works in, Robinson believes it is critical to stay in tune with changing trends.

“That’s very important. Music changes every day, so I have to grow with it. I stay true to myself while making sure the younger generation connects with the music,” he said.
