‘Young Legend’, the fourth album by deejay E-Dee, is scheduled to be released on July 24 by the Los Angeles-based artist’s Clarendon Records. It features several collaborations with acts like Ginjah and American singer Jazmin Akea.
Most of the songs are produced by Qmillion, with whom E-Dee has a long working relationship; and Jahsee, who has collaborated on most of the projects released by Clarendon Records which E-Dee launched just over one year ago.
‘Pretty Free’, his song with Jazmin Akea, is one of the tracks released prior to ‘Young Legend’. The artists connected through their ties in the Los Angeles music scene.
“Jazmin brings that beautiful, confident feminine energy that embodies the whole idea of being Pretty Free. Her voice adds sweetness, strength, and soul — she really makes you feel the freedom and the love in the lyrics,” said E-Dee.
The title track, ‘She’s Loyal’ and ‘Zum Zum Zum’ are other songs from ‘Young Legend’ that helped announce Clarendon Records. In 2025, the company released ‘Grateful’, his five-song EP.
For the lanky E-Dee, having his own label is among the highlights of his career.
“I’m very satisfied and excited about the direction of Clarendon Records. We’re staying true to independent artistry with full creative control, and drops like ‘Pretty Free’ show exactly what we stand for — real music with meaningful messages and party vibes,” he said.
The company is named for Clarendon parish, his hometown, which is located in central Jamaica. In addition to recording songs, E-Dee is an actor who has appeared in movies such as ‘Out The Gate’, ‘Temperature Rising’ and ‘Mother In Law’.
